I have said this before but I am not a patient person. All in all I feel for me I have done pretty well with waiting for our daughter. I definitely had some bumps in the road but eventually got to a zen place. Well, whatever semblance of patience I had left is gone.
We are still waiting for official approval to buy our plane tickets. I know it hasn't been that long, less than 3 business days but still I am ready. I am done waiting and done nesting and now just plain grumpy.
I don't want to be grumpy and I am trying really hard not to be grumpy but it isn't working. I still have some projects that need to be done around the house so I am trying to get to those but lack motivation. I am having the carpets cleaned today and then it is off to Target for some last minute items we need for travel. I do have a 4lb roast in the slow cooker for shredded taco meat so dinner is cooking and I will have lots of leftover to freeze.
I keep checking my email and telling myself that I will not bug my specialist again today. Did that twice yesterday. She will tell me as soon as she knows. So it is back to waiting, nesting, waiting and trying really hard not to be grumpy. I mean really I am weeks away from my dreams coming true so waiting a couple days to buy plane tickets shouldn't get to me. I realize this but it doesn't make it any easier.

So much to do...
I am still floating up on a cloud right now. April 3rd will go down as one of the best days of my life only to be replaced by the date that I actually get to hold my daughter in my arms. This has been a long 6 years. I finally feel like my dream of motherhood is coming true. We wouldn't be here right now had we not lived in the heartache, sorrow and roller coaster that was the last 6 plus years. I look at my daughter's face and I know it was all worth it. It doesn't take away the pain of the previous years but I know this is what is meant to be. We are meant to be with her and she with us.
Our road to parenthood was broken but also blessed by God. We truly are blessed. We have a beautiful daughter that we are in awe of and all of this waiting and tears makes total sense. Peanut is our daughter. This is what is meant to be. The stars have aligned and God has brought us our daughter.
I am trying to keep myself busy and trust me I still have a ton of stuff to do to get ready for the trip of a lifetime. We could be leaving in a month. Wow. Today so far I have cleaned out the pantry and now Peanut has a shelf all to herself. There is only a couple cans of formula on it right now but in time that will change.
I am about to throw some Beef Burgundy in the oven and then tackle wiping down all of the shelves in the refrigerator oh and starting some laundry. I am back to full nesting mode. I took a break after our referral and let things slide so I am back to checking things off my list. I also have a HUGE shopping list for tomorrow with things we actually need for the trip. Travel stuff mostly and a few things for Peanut.

Keeping Busy
I am tyring to keep myself busy so I don't count the days until our court date (38) all the time. February has been a good distraction with lots of plans on the weekends but my days off are what is tough.
I really have no desire to keep cleaning closets and organizing stuff yet that is the stuff that needs to get done. So what did I do today??? Nope didn't clean any closets...
I ordered copies of my birth certificate, copies of our marriage licence and copies of Dave's birth certificate. Now why did I do this...Well we know that we are going to adopt again and most likely again after that (Yes if you are the counting type, we would LOVE to have 3 children).
And me not knowing what I was doing the first time around didn't order enough copies of vital records so I figured why not order them now and then when we can start filling out paperwork again I won't have to wait for those. Yeah! Just wish I would have thought about this the first time. Getting vital records from CA is a process.
Other than that I am ordering new blinds for the back of our house. You see we only did the front of the house and just hung cheap curtains in the other windows and those just don't keep the light out of a sleeping babies room.
I am also going to schedule carpet cleaning for sometime in the next 2 months that way all the carpets will be clean for Peanut's arrival. I will most likely jump back on the cleaning/organizing wagon soon. I want to clean out the pantry, finish the office which I haven't gotten back to since referral day and plan a list of food to cook in advance and freeze for when we are first home with Peanut.
So I definitely have things to do but it is just so hard to put down a good book. Yes, still reading "There is no me without you". My heart just aches for these children and yet I am inspired by the kindness of some and shocked by the greed of others. Still pondering all of this and my what my role could be to do more...

Nursery pics :)
So I took some pictures of the nursery. It is is pretty much ready to go. We still have to unpack the single stroller and the pack n play but other than that we are mostly ready. This is a picture of the crib bedding.
These are some wall hangings that we still need to hang up but that doesn't take too long.
This is the bench that I just painted and then we put the pillows that match the crib bedding on it to make it look a little more cozy.

And this again is the mural. The only difference is that I painted a border around it in the same green I used to paint the bench which happens to be the same shade as the green in the crib bedding :)

Now that this project is just about done I have to find other things to do to pass the time. I do need to finish cleaning out the closet in the nursery but that isn't much. I guess it will be back to nesting projects that have yet to be finished. I pretty much dropped everything after we got our referral so the office is half clean and half disaster since that was the room I was cleaning when the phone rang. Well our court date is 2 months from tomorrow, not that I am counting. We are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that all goes well and we will be on that plane very soon.

Nesting again :)
Now that the mural is done I have to find other ways to occupy my time. So it is on to cleaning out my dresser, closet and anything else I can get my hands on.
I started with the top of my dresser and then cleaned out all of the drawers. I learned a lot today. I learned that I have entirely too many clothes and currently have 2 large black bags full of clothes to give to Goodwill.
I also learned that I have 25 pairs of various color socks. Yes and this doesn't count the white socks in the other drawer. I also found out that I have nearly 2o tank tops. Layering is in right???
It was nice to get that done. Next on the list is the closet in the master bedroom. This will be a scary task as our closet is let's say a disaster. Thank goodness it has a door we can close. I am forbidden from tackling the closet in the office as a certain someone has used that as a place to hide Christmas gifts so that one will have to wait. We mostly cleaned out the nursery closet before I started the mural so that is done. The rest of the nursery, well that is an entirely different story.
In adoption news, yes we have news. WE ARE # 13!!! And on the unofficial infant list we are #9. A fellow blogging friend of mine got a referral today for a little boy. YEAH ABBY!!!!
