10 days and counting

10 days until court. 10. What am I going to do with myself for the next 10 days?

Well to pass the time today I went to Target. I have a list of things that we still need to get for Peanut and for travel. I would have enjoyed the trip more had it not been pouring down rain but oh well.

I got some inflatable travel pillows today which came highly recommended for the long flight. I got some gas drops and children's motrin for Peanut. I bought a box of gallon size ziploc bags and 3 packages of sensitive baby wipes. 120 wipes should be enough for our trip right?? We are kind of heavy wipe users and I definitely don't want to run out.

I also got Peanut two different types of pacifiers as I am not sure which ones she will like. Then of course there was this cute pink hat that found its way into my cart. Oops. Can't help it :)

Lastly, some friends have told us that our agency's care center desperately needs infant vitamin drops so I bought the last 4 boxes that were on the shelf and plan to pick up plenty more before we travel.

I can't do this everyday as my list of needs for Peanut and travel is getting a lot smaller so I will have to find other distractions. Right now I am doing the rest of Peanut's laundry so all those cute outfits I got last weekend will be clean. I also cleaned the exersaucer and am washing the seat and cover for the bouncy seat. Okay now what...anyone have any ideas on how I can fill up the next 10 days?

Oh I sure hope that a nice Ethiopian judge signs off on our case in 10 days. I may go crazier than I already am if they don't. Please pray for us and for good news for all the families with upcoming court dates.

Shopping for baby stuff is fun!

So I just had to go to Target yesterday and well here is part of what happened :)

Baby Hangers:

I can't help myself. It is all just so cute. I also picked out some gifts for some dear friends as well. It was a blast :)
Today I had my first real Mom freak out. It was minor and some smart women I know told me to take a deep breath and relax. They are right. We sent Peanut's growth updates to the doctor and she said that Peanut is not on the charts for weight or head circumference and that she wished there had been a little more catching up. She also said it wasn't too worrisome so far and that we will see what next months numbers look like since the stress of a new environment takes a toll. Well, I didn't really read much of her email past not on the charts and more catching up. I freaked a little which I am told is very normal and I am also told that Peanut is doing great. Gaining is good. I also have to remember that I have it on good authority that she is doing quite well at the Care Center. I am glad I am using the doctor that I am as she tells it like it is but reading that at 6am with no coffee was probably not the best of ideas.

Getting ready

So as promised here are some picture of things we bought for peanut. The picture below is what we are planning on sending to peanut. There is a blanket, 2 onesies, and two pairs of pants. We will also include some family pictures. All of this fits in the gallon sized bag we can send to peanut.

This outfit was just too cute to resist. So I bought it :) I can't wait for her to wear it.

And this may seem silly but I couldn't help myself. I bought peanut a toothbrush. We were in Target picking up the above items and a few things for us and we were grabbing some mouth wash and I turned around and saw this and just thought it was too cute :)

This weekend we took down the second crib in the nursery, picked out which set of crib bedding we will use and started to clean up the room and get it ready. I am excited to get peanut's room ready. I look in there and think about her often. I picture her sitting in the crib or playing on the floor. Now that I have her picture, I can't help but miss her.

I am still dealing with all the emotions that have flooded me in the last week but faith and some kind words from some dear friends are helping. I have even heard more than once that I am glowing that "new Mom" glow. I guess the permanent smile on my face kind of gives it away. I also have noticed that like most Mom's, I worry. I worry about peanut. I wonder about what she is doing. Is she eating enough? Getting enough love? Is she healthy? Is she comfortable?

Peanut, know that I pray for you everyday. I pray that you are healthy, comfortable and content. I pray for the nannies and doctors that are taking care of you until I can come get you. I pray for your birth family. I pray that the next few months go by quickly. I pray that I can hold you in my arms soon and tell you just how much I love you.
