Okay after yesterday, I really did start to think about preschool. Now keep in mind Peanut won't be eligible for 3 year old preschool until 2012 as she has a late birthday. I put up a status message on facebook yesterday and was floored by some of the things I learned.
One of my friends reported that she signed her daughter up for preschool while still pregnant. Another put her daughter on the wait list for a preschool when she was 9 months old. The i have another friend who hasn't even looked into daycare yet.
Do I have to start thinking about that already? I don't even really know my daughter and yet I am planning her future.
The preschool that we are most interested in only has 20 kids in the 3 year old room so it might be quite tough to get her in there. So I will try for sure but will need to have a back up plan.
For those that have been there done that, when should I really start actively looking at preschools? I was thinking I would start at 18 months but now think that might be too late. This is all so crazy to me that we need to plan this far ahead just to get our children into a good school.

OMG.... I had no idea..... Already???? I gotta find a school ALREADY??? I'm still in the WAITING phase for pete's sake! Do you live in NYC or something??? Is it different here in the relative boonies?
I just signed Arlo up for preschool for this fall, at the school we wanted, last week. He is over 4, so I'd say your cool to wait a while. People hype this up. Plus, with your uber-mommy skills, peanut is going to be top of her class no matter where her cute little self goes to preschool :) Good luck!
